I knew I should not click on this thread. Now I want to try knapping again (I was without a doubt an utter failure and made on very pathetic point that kind of looked like an arrowhead)

Haven't done much flint knapping in the past few weeks but did put in about three hours one day while on a recent camping trip. Finished a decent dovetail out of some heat treated fossil coral. The point is 4 inches long and 1 5/8 inches wide. There's a nice band of brown that flows across the base then along the entire edge to the tip.

I just showed the picture to my wife. I told her, "Rick is always finding these artifacts that are so amazingly preserved and look almost new!" - She thought that was such an amazing stroke of luck!
I finally told her you make them...she was still impressed...but I got "the look"! LOL
