jasoninsd I got the UVbeast flashlight. It’s a high quality light. It came with a tube to add an extra battery. It uses 18650 batteries which aren’t readily available, (at least where I live). Luckily they are rechargeable Li ion batteries. I have several of these type batteries as they are what came with some of my high powered lasers. The flashlight is much brighter than my Luxpro. It even works in a room lit by daylight whereas the Luxpro does not. It needs to be a darkened room for the smaller light. Anyway, that’s my review. After further research, I think I would get their 365 nm version with the filter. It seems more suitable for lapidary uses. Later.

Thanks for posting the update on this. I had seen the extra battery compartment and thought it made it look bad to the bone! Good thing to know about the batteries as I didn't catch that... As far as I know, we don't really have a ton of material out here to hound via ultraviolet light...at least not that I know of just yet. So I'd probably go with the lower end model. I think it's really cool though that it fluoresces with the room lights on! Whatever you do, do NOT take it with you on your next vacation and shine it your hotel room! (Just sayin'. )
