I finally got the mini slabs that Stefan sent me - thanks again Stefan! and got one of the chunks of Banjo's plume agate slabbed at the shop. Here is a scrap piece of what I thought was either labradorite or moonstone but was informed it was spectrolite (labradorite is opaque but this is a type of labradorite) - the back is polished BUT a chunk flew out of the back - so if I wrap it, I'll make spiral to hide it Here is a piece of obsidian - I tried my hand at cabbing this way but found out after I shoulda used a flat lap to grind & polish instead of a wheel Here is a piece of Stefan's lace - I didn't have quite large enough to trace the template shape so I modified and them some parts were softer & broke so I reshaped again. I may have to bring this one back down to a 100 wheel again to shape nicely. Here is Stefan's plume - the piece was a little too thin to double cab it and I couldn't get a good dome and it has flat spots - my mistake - it should have been single sided only - chalk it up to inexperience - love the pattern though - This one took forever to shape up on the 100 wheel as it was so hard, it was supposed to be smaller but I quite once I got the shape okay Here is Banjo's graveyard plume - I made it so the little heart was visible on the front in the upper right - this one is double sided - I love to feel these once they,re polished. Finally - Stefan,s OJ - I ended up with little vugs in the cab (front & back), but it still looks spectacular! Thanks for looking

The last picture is great. One question though - What is a "vug"?

a vug is a hole or gap - in this case caused by the crystals around the "eyes" and they create a hole in the stone - usually where you don't want them

tweetie you are doing a great job on the cabs. keep up the good work. i love that ocean jasper.
the spectrolite i have is blackish. i'm more inclined to think that is labradorite. but you can absolutely not go on my rock identification skills.

it could be labrakite (sp) which is silver and black when polished I have some but no pictures maybe that would be a good afternoon project we'll see

Wow, great job! If someone were to tell you earlier this year you'd be doing this would you have believed them? I remember you were having a hard time just getting a hold of some rocks earlier this year.
Keep up the good work and amazing progress.
