The HP 10 has been sitting on the porch in the box for 4 months. I rotated the 16 inch Covington 90 degrees and moved the Genie to the left.

I don't think I could have contained myself for 4 months knowing that was sitting in a box...just waiting...and wanting to be used.

So pretty when they are clean! It looks like it fits perfectly, too.

I had to clean a bunch of trim saw chips and slab leftovers before I could move things around before I could put it on the table.

I thought you had been...and figured that was the reason it's been sitting there. I'm glad you were feeling up to getting that bad boy setup...and hopefully up and running here pretty soon.

I came down with a cold a week before Christmas. My colds can last over a month. This turned into something else, not covid. Runny nose, stuffy sinuses. Working with my doctor and getting meds. Yesterday, I had a ct-scan and a bunch of lab tests. I do lapidary when I feel like it. Symptoms not as bad and motivated. I have some light yard work that I want to do but am unable. I don't ask a lot of my body and pace myself. I don't recommend getting old.

As long I can live in my own home and grind rock, I'm ok. My parents stayed in their home too long and when they went into assisted living and nursing care it was fortunately over quickly. I visited them and even though the facility was great, the situation is very depressing. Being dead is better than being warehoused.

There were no instructions with the saw. There were instructions on the site but they were the same as for the larger saws. I think I need to only add oil and turn it on and will call tomorrow. I have some pieces of rough ready to go. The vise is vertical and it will be interesting how well it will work with small rough not glued to a board. All I could do with my big saw was usually a facing cut.

I called HP today and got a video about how much oil to use. Not other instructions. I added 2 gallons of oil and plugged it in. The saw surprisingly started running. I tried to turn if off and the on/off switch didn't work. I plugged it into a power strip to have an on/off. I noticed that the rock didn't advance to the blade. I called HP and was emailed a video on trouble shooting the switch box which explained how a mounting plate on the feed motor could have been put on backwards. The saw has a button that operates the power feed and I'm not sure if that is working or how to use it; push once on push again off, push it twice and it does a little dance.
I sent a reply to the email with the video link saying I shouldn't have to troubleshoot a new saw and to escalate the issue.
