Guys, please be mindful of netiquette. If you have a beef, take it off the board in PM.

The owner of the company called me and we had a pleasant conversation for over an hour. He's a lapidary guy.

Yes, Highland Park Lapidary's equipment is fabricated in China. But one of the two owners lives in China and manages the shop. As an engineering-type, the view my 10-in trim saw as being very well designed and fabricated.
I don't like purchasing Chinese products, but some of the largest US and European industrial company have fabrication facilities in China. Blue-chip, S&P 500 and Dow Jones Index companies should produce top-quality products. No, HP Lapidary is not in this category; but it is my opinion, based on my one saw, that it is excellent equipment.

New user, first post? Welcome to the board, might be good to introduce yourself and show us that you are here for more than damage control from the bad reports surfacing all over social media on recent batches of HP equipment.

Fact - there is no user manual. Fact - When I asked for documentation the only video I was referred to was about coolant level. Fact - I asked for specifics about how to set the saw up. Fact - even the most basic piece of equipment has set up instructions. Fact - Since the saw ships from China, I can understand no instructions in the box. Clear set up instructions should be on their website for each model. I am not being unreasonable in my expectations. A person shouldn't have to go on a treasure hunt. Fact - This is all un-true Fact - There is a user manual….All the saws set up the same way Fact - They cover all of this on their web site If your that dissatisfied send it back an quit complaining hang on a minute if some one is unhappy with a product they are free to speak there mind whether you agree or not ! with the way our would is going these days some of you have for got about free speech our basic right ! i personally know John and Rolland and i have dealt with the many times on there product and the lack there of things missing when shipped and iam one who has a direct line to both but i do know they have issues with help responding back to people and also quality control ! so ease up there pal let them work it out with him
