Tumblers have rough 24/7 duty. Imbalance placed directly on the motor shaft ? I doubt any motor supplier gives any warranty for such an application. Guessing that Lot-O is playing the maker's safety factor game and hoping the motors don't fail.
A motor connected to an imbalanced shaft via drive belt is most likely covered under the motor maker's warranty, an imbalance connected directly to the motor shaft is not likely covered. Motor ratings cover imbalance situations. Motors that can handle such are usually robust and have heavy duty bearings and thick shafts. A light duty 5hp motor can weigh 25 pounds, a heavy duty 5 hp may weigh 100 pounds.
Guessing again that Lot-O should be responsible for replacing in-warranty motors.

I think I figured out the problem!
One side is missing a washer. That’s it. That’s why there was the brown dust on one fan- the bearing was rubbing against the “lid” of the motor. Unfortunately, it also caused damage on the little o-ring/washer/stopper that prevents the bearing to slip down the shaft. (See second video to see what ring I mean...)
I watched this video to figure out how to open the darn thing, and this video to figure out the bearing issue. Sooo....*hopefully* I’ll be able to utilize my Lot-O again after buying/replacing $.50 washers instead of a $125 motor. (I’m hoping the bearing itself is still good- if not, I’ll have to figure out we’re to buy one of those suckers, too. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

I wonder if AQuartzLow has any update to this. I've been having problems with my Lot-o and after taking the motor apart I discovered the spring washer was completely broken.
This allowed the shaft to wobble, which caused the bearing at the far end to shift, which prevented the shaft from turning. This is what it looked like when I first pulled it out and before re-seating the bearing in the plate.

UGH! I’m sorry you’re going through this. I thought I had updated here, but I don’t see it. 🤦🏻♀️ (I’ll be sure to update the first post…)
My washer trick worked for a little while. I ultimately had to replace the motor- bought it from The Rock Shed, but they seem to be out of stock at the moment.
It’s been running great ever since, though. Nice, quiet, and smooth. I don’t know why these motors have such hit-or-miss quality control, but it truly is frustrating, especially since it’s such a pricey machine.
Best of luck to you- I hope you get yours up and running again soon.

Well that really sucks. I went ahead and ordered the washer because I figure worse case scenario I'm out an extra $25, but best case scenario I save a little over $100 not having to buy a new motor. Why did you ultimately have to replace the motor?
It just stopped working. Nothing I tried truly fixed whatever problem it had, unfortunately. 😣
So I had to bite the bullet and get a new motor. However, after my not-so-great interaction with “The Manufacturer,” I decided to not buy from him directly. I searched Fasco for the correct motor, but it seems to be specific to the Lot-o.
That being said…where do you live where a simple washer costs $25?! I truly hope you can return it so you can put your money towards a new (and *hopefully* more reliable) motor. Like I said, it really seems hit-or-miss with these motors, so use the heck out of it before the 90 day warranty expires, just in case!

The washers come in a 10 pack for $15 and it's about $10 shipping. I looked around, including some local places, but this was the cheapest I could find it.
Where did you end up buying your replacement motor from? Everywhere is sold out at the moment... I'm going to have a nice backlog for my Lot-o once I get it up and running again.
I figured I would post a single quick update here for anyone else that sees this thread. My experience was similar to AQuartzLow. I replaced the washer and everything seemed perfect... for a little while. The motor just stopped working. I plug it in and it doesn't even try to spin. It just hums. I can still freely spin the axle easily by hand, so this motor had other problems. I would not recommend buying a washer to try and fix this motor.
