This is Brazilian Agate and the contrasting directional patterns intrigued me to choose this cab. I used my flat lap to shape and my UV-18 tumbler to polish. The final cab photo is backlit and shows the translucent characteristic of the cab. The vibrant colors shine with the light. Here is my entry ... I never got the chance to truly finish it but I ran out of time. I also plan on drilling two corner holes for hanging. The material is German rhyolite agate from Oberthal Saarland. The size is 64mm x 42mm.    |

Well here we are the last day of May. I never even got time to look for something to cut. Ali started one and that's all the farther she got too. When she showed me Tommy's entry earlier I stopped and said OMG it's May 31st today. Guess I'm not cutting a cab for the contest...

I know there was so much work put into each one of these...and every single entrant should feel very proud of their cabs as each one of them is gorgeous.
I will be totally honest...there was one particular cab this month that pretty much did a "drop the mic" moment for me...

I will be totally honest...there was one particular cab this month that pretty much did a "drop the mic" moment for me... Think that one had the same effect on many ppl this month lol. Couldn't pin down what #8 reminded me of until now.... the "rampant lion" on the Scotland flag, turned sideways! |
