It's like the TP crisis all over again... Gas cans probably flying off the shelves every place that sells them. I figure hold tight unless your gas is critical. Once everyone has filled their tank, then what?
From Citizenfreepress yesterday Gas prices are high and so is Karen…

Your link link backed to this thread. Oops, how about this. Don't know why it did that. ETA - Looks like Rick posted a link to the same video a couple hours after I did yesterday. But his link worked. Doh!

Colonial Pipeline Co. paid nearly $5 million to Eastern European hackers on Friday, contradicting reports earlier this week that the company had no intention of paying an extortion fee to help restore the country’s largest fuel pipeline, according to two people familiar with the transaction.
The company paid the hefty ransom in difficult-to-trace cryptocurrency within hours after the attack, underscoring the immense pressure faced by the Georgia-based operator to get gasoline and jet fuel flowing again to major cities along the Eastern Seaboard, those people said. A third person familiar with the situation said U.S. government officials are aware that Colonial made the payment.
Once they received the payment, the hackers provided the operator with a decrypting tool to restore its disabled computer network. The tool was so slow that the company continued using its own backups to help restore the system, one of the people familiar with the company’s efforts said.
A representative from Colonial declined to comment, as did a spokesperson for the National Security Council. Colonial said it began to resume fuel shipments around 5 p.m. Eastern time Wednesday.

Colonial pipeline not much better'n a plastic bag. One of Colonial’s two pipelines ruptured last summer in North Carolina, spilling 1.2 million gallons of gasoline, the largest spill in the state’s history.
In 2016, a Colonial pipeline exploded and released 4,400 barrels of gasoline into a pond in Shelby County, Ala. One worker was killed. Recovery and repair procedures were hampered by dangerous clouds of gasoline and benzene vapors, PHMSA reported.
Later that year, an underground leak of more than 7,000 barrels was discovered by a mine inspector in Alabama. That leak was attributed to pipe fatigue caused by improper preparation of the soil beneath it. For both incidents, the company agreed to pay the state $3.3 million to cover damages and penalties.

Only was pointing out how stupid some people are. There is no statute of limitations on stupidity. This is also an image from 2019. Stupid people are everywhere. Hey, you!!! Out of the gene pool!!

It's ironic... or is it......that Colonial had just completed (within the last week or so) a major digital transfer operation systems analysis and up-grade that had not yet been completely secured, and had not completed the physical manual over-ride protocol "loop" deployment ability (all petro, wastewater/water, pump station and reservoir facilities operating under Federal oversight) must adhere to.......and they were still shopping for a Cyber Security outfit to be their watchdog.....and they have been hacked before........! Most certainly they were being "cased" and were on the "vulnerable target" radar of the hackers.......and more than likely an insider deployment our current U.S. Government Officials were aware of......No sweat, let the insurance companies do their diligence and force the consumer to pay back their recovery losses. After all, it's the way the petro business's have been operating forever.......the consumer suffers every time there is a disruption and even if there is the slightest possibility of a disruption........Another leverage tool for our current leaders to exploit and come to the rescue giving away more money to stop the bleeding.....lol So...... IRONIC or NOT........? Regardless, they'll survive, slap on the wrist and out less than a days wages in their world.........and the hackers will continue to escalate and laugh all the way to the bank converting their profits to bitcoin.....Any Federal Security detail on Biden's watch will be challenged for some time coming.....and they'll sit back and watch the ignorant, gullible, knee-jerk reactionary population that supported/supports them, cry foul.....! How fun is this ride the next 3.5yrs going to be.......lol
