You want $100 for each of your pendants if you sold them yourself. That's your "retail" price. He will pay you $50 for your each of your pendants. That's the "wholesale" price. He will list them for sale for $80 a piece (his retail price) and say the MSRP is $100...so he can say a customer is getting 20% off MSRP. Kinda my quick thoughts on it... Exactly what I was going to say; Great minds right? I think if you've got too many cluttering up your space, it's better to make some money than no money, but that's me (and sentiments would vary based on how much time/material and my end reason for making it... profit? Practice? Boredom project?). Something I really love? I'd hold onto that until I got my asking price. Other common stuff, I'll take a markdown to get it moving. Looking into opening a retail space of my own, maybe I'll have to hit you up miket ! You make some good points, Mel. When I first started this I never had profit as a motivator. Practice, something to do while waiting for tumblers, something to do with cabs I've made...but never profit. I have separated my pendants into a box with stuff that I'm so/so on and stuff I really like- but then I wonder why I did it, because it's not like I'm going to do anything else with the stuff that I really like! As an update, I still haven't called. Maybe fear of rejection plays into it, who knows? And feel free to hit me up any time!
