I bought this 1 lb Blue Bird mine Azurite, Chrysocolla, and Malachite piece in San Antonio, Texas. I face polished the section you see on the right. The section that was trimmed off in this process was turned into the cabs in the second group picture. There was one piece leftover that I did not complete because it was extra small, and it sat around for a few years. For this contest, I decided to hand finish this piece. You can see in the third picture the stone attached to a dop stick with some dop wax so that I could hold it easily and grind away the unwanted material. The final cab is around 16 mm tall x 12 mm wide x 3mm deep. The blue color is very vibrant!
