LOL Rose, are you back to the "patience grasshoppa" stage? Has it been that long since you had them rolling? I just took another batch out of polish a few minutes ago, it's washing now so will have new pics tomorrow. There's a few bigger agates in this batch along with a lot of small mixed stuff.

Oh yes, but I never fully got over it ! The thing that stalled me was the mess of the hematite during recharages, its horrible everything its touches is dyed red, so I'll have that again in a few days but the end is in sight I suppose. Have to keep my cat away this time, last time I spilt some of the slurry which dried on the floor, my WHITE cat came along later and decided to roll over and over its scratching her back like they do, right in the same spot the power got all over her, she was rather pink for a few days after. ;D

LOL Pink kitty, that's cute. Things might be a bit different over there but do you have any place you can dump the slurry outside like a dirt alley or something? I've got a large plastic strainer that I dump the barrel into and rinse them off good with the hose before messing with them. My shirts have stayed much cleaner since doing this but it's only good for summertime. I've found that no matter what the slurry it, it stains clothing.

Cher, Those are beautiful. It looked like so many. Was that a 3 lb. barrel or a 6 lb. barrel. Maybe I am not putting enough into mine.

Thanks Sally, Actually, the polish barrel that these came out of is a 1.5 pound barrel. Remember though, these are pretty small, there were only a few that were bigger than a quarter, most were dime and nickle size.

They are beautiful, and the photo is fabu. I wish I knew the trick to get all the detail of the rock and also get the shine the way this is.

Thanks Puppie, but I really don't have any special technique. It's been too cold to stand around outside taking pics so the last two sets of pics, I took on the shelf of my bow window. I set the rocks in an area shaded from the direct light by the divider between the windows but where they still get plenty of indirect light from the windows on each side.
Jack, I don't have a special recipe, I'm just really particular about what gets moved on to the next stage. If it's got a lot of chips and pits, it stays in coarse until it gets smoother or disappears, whichever comes first. *smile* I really don't let them disappear, if they are too difficult, I take the dremel to them and smooth 'em out that way.

Cher, your lakers sure are spectacular! They do look similiar to the Botswannas due to the concentric white bands too. In the center of picture #3, the white one with reddish-orange colors.. looks like a fire agate too. ed/cuervo
