Man you've set the bar pretty darn high! That's gorgeous! I love the final shape! I've got disks up to 14,000...and I won't finish any of the cabs in the tumbler. I tried that a long time ago (that's relatively speaking of course! LOL) and I couldn't shake the "guilty" feeling. That feeling is ONLY meant for me. I know a lot of people finish their cabs in the tumbler and I'm not opposed to anyone other than myself doing that. For me, I want to say it was all hand done. Again, for anyone reading this who finishes their cabs in the tumbler - that was not directed at you - only me! I actually do run them through all the wheels and then use a rawhide polishing pad with 0.3 micron AO on a flat lap. So I get them as good as I can by hand. But even 6 of 8 hours in the Lot-O evens out the shine nicely. The cab in the photos I just posted was only polished up the wheels up to 14,000. It didn't seem to need more, so I called it good.

jasoninsd As soon as you described the size, I was immediately brought back to the '80s and thought of this: Only two hours to work it? That sounds like about the same amount of time a regular sized Botswana Agate takes me on the flat lap! LOL I was a kid in the 80s and my mom didn't let me listen to rap, so I have no recollection of that fine timepiece around his neck. I wonder if he still thinks that was a good look? As far as giving you the other half, I've got a better idea... I could send a few nice Botswana slablets your way and in exchange, perhaps you would be willing to wrap one or two of my cabs? You would be collaborating in Christmas presents for my wife and mom, so you would have many months to do it. I will even toss in a nice piece of royal imperial jasper if you get some silver wire. I was looking the other day and the silver isn't all that expensive. Not sure if it's harder to work with than the copper. How quickly can I type out "deal"! LOL I've got some silver left...and I knew I was holding onto it for some reason! LOL - It's silver-filled, not sterling. I don't find it any easier or harder to work than copper... I didn't listen to rap back then...nor at any time since! LOL - I just remembered the big clock. I had to Google "80s singer big clock" to find out who it was! LOL

That Bot turned out fantastic! I love how you captured all of the craziness in that one.

LOL When I said silver I meant silver colored. I don't care what it's made out of as long as it doesn't turn green, rust, or cause my wife to break out in hives.
