A camera. To take pictures and show us the results! 😁 (Although I'm laughing brybry, I couldn't agree more. ) Welcome to the forum. That's quite a list of material. We all live vicariously through others...so we all really do love pictures.

I have the one on my phone, if it doesn't do the job I'm sure I can just hold the rocks up to the screen and if you squint REALLY hard you should be able to see them.

I should have something to post pics of soon. Tree Agate in the polish and I have Rainbow Obsidian and Mahogany Obsidian in stage 1 to smooth out the Sharp edges and hopefully bring more of the rainbow colors out.
I can now add Pietersite and Kaleidoscope Stone to the list of eventual tumble stones.

Obsidian! there are a few threads on here about getting the best polish on Obsidian, it might pay to have a bit of a read as it can be a real challenge.

I have a small batch of rainbow and mahogany working now. Playing with a couple ideas while in stage 1. I put what I thought was small obsidian stones in with the larger ones but that got pulverized in a day. Thinking they were tourmaline pieces. Found one stone with scratches it didn't have prior so added some sawdust and slurry. Working on the consistency I want now.

1st round, 8 days in 80 SiC. Seeing more of the rainbow colors and the Mahogany is just lovely. Feels a little velvety be t on to 180/220 for 7-10 days. I didn't want absolute smooth as much as I wanted to round out the jagged edges

I'm still checking my barrels twice a day minimum to make sure everything is going good and learning what I should be seeing and hearing. I usually run the motto "if you're looking you ain't cooking" but being new I gotta do my checks until I get a better idea of what to expect.

In my near future will be an AR-12, AR-6 and a Raytech TV-5.
Checked the tumbler and couldn't feel any grit in the tumble pudding so added some 500 SiC and letting it ride for another week.
Other tumbler has a mix of Kambaba & Script Jasper in stage 1.
Gotta get pics but hit the creek a little and scored 2 5 gallon buckets of material. Going back tomorrow to get some more. Mix of quartz and not sure if it's chert or Jasper.

Careful on that AR12. I know a guy who's lid didn't last a month, make sure you are checking the depth at the center of the lid between tumbles and keep the bigger stones to the core of the tumbler.

I get quite a few of these. Looks like dull melted wax / hard clay on the outside, gorgeous on the inside. No idea what they are. I've found some with rose red inside, love those.

Definitely hooked! The TV-5 is here but missing the threaded rod and nuts, waiting on those to come in. The AR-6 is in the mail and the AR-12 ships out tomorrow. Thank you for the tip on the 12!

Checked my 2 whiddle barrels this morning. Couldn't feel any grit on the jaspers so added another tbls of 80 SiC and kept them working. The obsidian felt weird. Couldn't feel any grit but had course sand like pieces in it. Dumped, rinsed and inspected. Had about a half dozen small pieces of green opal in with it and it appears that a couple were decimated as I was dialing in my slurry. Also the fine sawdust and corncob I had in to help cushion was completely obliterated to pudding. For my intended purpose they are looking good and are now reloaded with kitty litter, broken ceramic pellets, corn cob and 500 SiC. Biggest lesson learned is next time have enough obsidian for a proper load.

Remembered this guy just sitting around in a HEPA flow hood I'm not using anymore. May have to spend the time waiting on rocks to tumble to look around and see what else I can find that may be useful to spin a 17 lb barrel

Soooooo, the AR-12 showed up today. Was a bit surprised to find it was an AR-12 base but had a 3lb barrel instead of the 12lb barrel. Chalking this up didn't ask enough questions and being unfamiliar with said product, I didn't differentiate between the two barrels. My sweet deal wasn't as sweet as I thought.
Soooooo, I look for a replacement barrel. No 12 pounders we're to found for less than $200. Looked for Lortone barrels, out of stock, even from Lortone.
Found a Rebel 17 barrel shipped for less than than Thumler 12lb barrel. Ok so now I will soon have a complete functioning unit. Ok cool.
My wife looks up Thumlers units and had a conniption over the prices. I show her the Rebel 17 setup and I now have a spanky new Rebel 17 on the way.
So what does a fella do? He contemplates canceling the order for the barrel. Then said fella thinks about the 12+ pounds of agate that will take months to grind out and the little devil on shoulder says to keep the damn barrel for long runs and still have the other for everything else. Guess who won that argument.
The AR-6 is due in soon so I'll have 4 3lb barrels, 1 9lb barrel, 2 15lb barrels and a 4lb vibe. I think I'm good now.
On a side note, other than realizing I'm still young enough to do something not overly bright, I'm going to challenge myself to something that may or may not work but could be fun.
In my mom's declining years with Alzheimers, she saved literally everything. I was digging in a storage building yesterday and found a plastic qt Mayo jar. I want to attempt a full start to finish tumble with the mayo jar.
Probably going to fail but doing it anyway. Can't be worse than my deal shopping,🤣🤣😉
