Fantastic KD! I feel torn, part of me wants to work up a green stone and the other part is scarred to!! Any chance for a photo of the back of the little one? I really like that mount, a little silver to contrast with the green but not overpower it. Great job! Bill

KD, you've just got to stop doing that!. Now I must have some Malachite! Where did you get that beautiful stuff? Trish

Arkie, i got that off eBay and paid WAY TOO MUCH for it.....but i got a lot of cabs out of it, so i guess it paid for itself in a way, except it's horrible stuff to work with. i thought i'd foulded my polishing wheel with the darn stuff and i may post a new thread about my whole episode and cleaning Genie wheels, but the short story is, i think malachite will begin to "melt", "burn" whatever and i was in panic mode until i realized i just had to back off on the pressure in the final stages.
i have a piece about 2" x 3" by 1/4" thick leftover if you want to share the joy/pain...let me know. i'm done with the stuff, never again! i have a few more pieces to fine tune for mounting and then i'm giving up malachite forever!

Thanks Kd, I'd love to try it. What would you like in exchange? I have lots of slabs. Trilsh
