My advice is: Learn to cab! 😂 Join a rock club and you can learn. You will love it. It's like tumbling with your hands. Awesome score on the UV-45 that thing must be a monster. I wouldn't have a choice even if I didn't want to. I'm the slabber and cutter out of the 2 of us. Already looking at cab machines for the next purchase. I can pretty much promise you will like it. My cabbing machine cost $25 and a lot of work. Mine was probably from the 60's.

Nothing wrong with that. Got some time to sock some dollars away, gotta get something nice to make it easier to justify all the pretty rocks I'll bring in.

Going to run course in the 15 pounders. Never really got the scope of how big the UV-45s are with nothing in the pic for scale. The deal was too good to pass up. Let me correct myself. I have run 120/220 sic for a 3 day run on Septarian, Labradorite, Mahogany Obsidian and Rainbow Moonstone. I figured they were soft enough that I could run them in the 120/220 sic as a rough run and bypass the 40/70 or 80 SiC in the tumbler.

I was in town today and stopped by Lowe's. Grabbed 3 bags of small river stone for $4 a bag. Need some good smalls to help fill in the 45s until I get to where I can feed them with tumbled.
Tried the creek that runs in my property lines but the smalls are all fractured and busted up. Thinking all the rain we got spring & summer gave the creek a run for it's money.
Anywho, rinsed the rock off a perferated hotel pan, shook out the stuff that fall through the holes and weighed it up. 46 lbs 5 ozs of river rock + other largish rock I had hanging around. I think it's hanging out at around 54 lbs and kicking.
Going to run each bag for 3 days. Figure I'll get the small fill, potential small rotary fill and driveway gravel.
