Your packing is commendable sir! Unfortunately the book you sent me repeats the same 2 lines and the pages are covered in old dried bubble gum wads, lol.

jasoninsd I'm starting to think you just have a "shiny light" filter on all your photos lol
How was it to work with?
I have a handful of pieces to tumble. From what I can tell the milky white and pea green won't tumble so well, they seem softer and more prone to cleavage (I think that's the right word).
Of course I'm tumbling mine, so it's a completely different experience....

Gonna sock it away until I'm comfortable enough to whip some cabs out of it. Definitely want to try fortifying a slab so I can utilize the whole slab instead of trying to work around it.

If my camera has filters on it, it better be the coffee making kind of filter... otherwise I have no clue how to use it! LOL With my material, the green area was junk. It would just disintegrate. I don't know the correct technical jargon, but the issue I had with some pieces is the "bond" between the different colored materials wasn't always the strongest...so it was prone to fracturing...unexpectedly a lot of times. If I were tumbling it, I would think a LOT of cushioning material would be necessary, to eliminate as much banging of material as possible. I have FAR less experience tumbling, but that's what I'd do...

I had a few small pieces of the green break off the edge of 1 or 2. Nice thing is Tommy mentioned the weaker areas so I went into it knowing what I was getting and was already thinking of what I wanted to do.

That's exactly what I did. I've had this material for awhile now...and finally got the courage to work it. I was going to stabilize it as well...but my impatience got the best of me and I just said to heck with it and went for it. LOL I have some pieces that aren't as interesting as this one I know don't need stabilized that I'll work again soon...and I think I have some more pieces like this one that I have set aside for stabilizing down the road...

Gotcha, it would be fun to stabilize to get the most out of the colors. I have some epoxy, but I would imagine I need a vacuum setup like Tela had posted about to get the most impact.

Gonna have to make myself wait and do it right. Wife might kill me if I jump the gun and trash a slab or 2, lol.

Oh I did. I showed her the slabs when I pulled them out and she wanted to claim them for herself.

brybry Have you messed around with your Purple Cow at all? I'm having much better success in the tumbler than I thought. Not everything is holding together but the ones that are look sharp so far. The purples, dark greens and some of the white/clear the colors doing best. This is in line with the cabs jasoninsd has put forth. The white is as strong as Marshmellow fluff and the light greens are far too brittle.
