Thank you for doing this. I am sure your jewelry will touch the lives of many. I hope so- just like your boxes. A wonderful thing to do and thank you for sharing. Thank you. I hope this works out for a long term thing. Rockjunquie, I also agree that charitable work or donations that one makes are important to both our interest(psyche) and societal needs. We, like you, probably make donations to multiple charities but the one I most like is "Meals on Wheels". I don't see why any reasonable person would object to your topic. Thanks. Meals on Wheels is good, too. Local. I do some local stuff, too. But, I had an immediate connection with the people on the reservation. I'm sure if we did a bit of a sharing of activities we would find that many of us are involved in charitable activities. I know trying to get together with another RTH member, we both had to juggle days that we were involved as community volunteers. I don't sell my work but I do give it away to people who ask to buy it - the price - whatever they might choose to give to a charitable organization. On a couple of occasions their gift told me that they thought more of my art than I might have had I placed a price on it. Never hide your light under a basket. Judging by the generosity of the members here, I'd say you are right- probably a lot of causes supported here.
I put a suggested minimal price on my pieces with removable tape. I don't know if anyone there has an experience with rocks, so I don't want some of them undersold.
It must have felt really good to know your jewelry made even more than you expected and for a good cause. Cool way to it forward.

This is great. If they sell it online please post link Thanks, Evan. When I get any news, I'll post it here. I don't know how communicative they will be, but I asked them to let me know if they sell online and if they sell at all. I really don't know exactly what they are gonna do. I do hope it goes well enough that I can keep sending them pieces, but if they can't sell it- well, I don't see the point. I'm kinda nervous about it. I really want them to make about what I would have made.

rockjunquieThank you for mentioning this, Tela. It is good to share your charitable endeavors. It not only draws attention to the specific charity, but more generally, it inspires the charitable spirit in others. Many on the forum talk about their business of selling cabs, which no one finds offensive. Your generous decision to donate your work to a charitable cause is even more worthy of being shared. I see that Re-Member has an online store where they already sell jewelry, among other things. That would be an obvious place for them to post your items. If you did not already do so, you could send them any photos that you have of the pieces that you donated. You take professional photos that would likely be better than what they might take, and at a minimum, it would save them time. If I see your wraps posted on the website, I might buy some. I have wanted to buy some of your work, but I have never asked since I know that you no longer have a desire to sell. If I could buy a few pieces indirectly while supporting impoverished children, it would be a win-win-win for everyone involved!

Lest anyone be wondering...
Thanks for checking out Re-Member. No, I did not send them pictures, but I'm not sure how they plan to sell them, either. I'm gonna bring it up next time I discuss it with er. (soon)
