So, when I first started wire-wrapping, my sister thought she'd do a good deed and bought me wire. Problem was...it was "craft" wire - and lots of different colors. It's all softer than soft! This morning it dawned on me I could try twisting it onto the silver wire to create a stronger wire. I know it won't be everyone's style...but I really like it! Thanks for taking a gander!

Very cool looking. I never thought of twisting craft with silver but it works. It's a great way to use up the wire you got. That's thinking outside of the box for sure.

I couldn't go to sleep last night...none...zero...so with just about two pots of coffee in my system since 4am, caffeine must have fired a few neurons! LOL Very cool Jason
Thanks Chad! I'm pretty stoked about this...I had NO clue what I was going to do with that craft wire! LOL

Thanks my friend!! I first twisted a piece of black with copper wire just to see if it would work...so that's sitting on the table just begging to be used on something else!

I think it looks neat, good thinkin'! Between the bow at the bail and the red/silver combo, that example had a real Christmas feel.

Very cool! Did you use sterling or is that craft wire, too? If I were you, I would get some silver craft wire to use the other craft wire and not burn up your sterling. Just my opinion.
This looks really good and I agree with the others- it is Christmasy and the colors go great with the stone. By George- I think you're onto something!

Great color combo for that cab Thanks Bry! I've got a slew of colors...so it's going to be interesting with some of the combinations which are going to be possible. Some I can mix with silver, others I can do with a copper patina...and others could possibly be done with copper and no patina! Very cool! Did you use sterling or is that craft wire, too? Thanks Tela! It's not sterling...it's silver-filled. I might see what twisting the two craft wires together will do, but I don't think they'll be sturdy enough to do anything with past the bail. I think I'd end up having to clip them off right at the top of the bailing wire...then there'd be a pretty serious "gap" at the top of the bail, since they're twisted... Yeah...I just see a big bow now with what I did there at the bail...and it was totally accidental. LOL

It's a candy cane with a bow on top! Very cool looking. Thanks Robin! Yeah...it really kind of does, doesn't it!?! LOL As soon as she saw this, my wife asked if I would use the blue wire like this when I wrapped her stone. I told her I didn't think it would work. The shape she picked out is not only small, but it has some pretty tight angles to it. I believe this will work easier on (read that as only work on) larger cabs with more of a curve to the perimeter (e.g. teardrops or ovals). Trying to make a tight turn with it, would separate the twist and look like junk...

This gives me ideas. My wife's bff bought her a bunch of colored craft wire on clearance and we weren't sure how to use it. Think you solved the problem.

That would make a great Christmas tree ornament. Put a little peppermint oil on the back, and it will be complete.

My sister had bought me all that craft wire, so it's going to be headed to her house... I didn't mean that as a slight. It just looks so Christmasy, and I couldn't think of any other appropriate place to display a Christmas cab. Wearing it a Christmas party is also an option, but hung on a Christmas tree, it could be on display for the whole month of December (and if your house is anything like mine... sometimes all of January... and maybe a week or two in February...)

LOL I'm afraid we have a much less spirited excuse for keeping the tree up for months. It relates to my motivation and misplaced priorities.
