wow skipper did you leave any rocks for the rest of the hounds. 70lbs, that's a lot to haul around but from the pics I'd say well worth it. Nice job and I wish you had been able to find more of the crown jewels

Great story Skipper! Thanks for photojournaling it for us!!! I only had time to pick up a couple of trinket rocks from a gift shop in Tucson while I was there for a couple days on business in '04... Not exactly a rock forray.

Skipper, Looks like you had a great time! I must've missed this thread the 1st time around, so I'm glad you didn't finish it up until now. Great pics, story and Rocks! It suprises me that you didn't stumble on any rattlers, especially climbing up and down all over their terrain. Have fun with the Goodies. Steve

Great collection....I know you had a load of fun getting those beauties.....and we do want pics of them when you are done polishing them...

wowzer- Arizona is the place to be---- rockhounding is the life for me!!! (sorry that was my greenacres rendition!) Nice haul! Funny at the airport- My dad brought home some rocks from Scotland for my sister- He was held up in customs for hours because the rocks would not xray- he finially had to open his luggage and explain WHY he was bring home rocks!

Wow, this is great! I haven't been around much for the last week, and just now started trying to catch up. I'm so glad the directions were helpful and that the place was productive. I had the link to the directions but hadn't gone there myself. This is great information since I'm supposed to be out there again at the end of January with probably two full days to go out rocking. I've also got assorted "other" rock from Arizona, though primarily I've got the chalcedony/fire agates. Mine hasn't amounted to much so far, but I'll keep you posted.
