Happy Holiday! Are you gonna break up those small rocks behind you and load them in the cars to take them home to tumble?

Not in MY car!!!
Anyways, BamBam had to leave his stick at home, it just doesn't fit in either vette. (Remember, it's a very BIG stick.) Guess we'll just have to come back with the truck to carry the stick (to break the rocks with) & to haul the rocks back home in.

Robert -
We both drive the blue vette! But it's really BamBam's - his pride & joy ( 1976 Stingray ).
BamBam bought me the red '84 and I use it as my daily driver, road conditions permitting of course. Mine is just about the only vette you'll see out on the road year round around here. My thinking is - If ya don't drive it, what's the point in owning it?

Robert -
I've wanted a vette ever since I was a young teenager ( a few years ago *lol* ) and my Mom said I couldn't have a motorcycle ( so I decided on a vette instead ). Now I own one of each! While she sits there rolling her eyes & shaking her head, I just smile thinking to myself - "You ain't seen nothin' yet!!!"

Surprisingly, the vettes take off & stop pretty darn good in the snow. Turning, on the other hand, is another story ( they seem to wanna keep goin' straight! ). BamBam had new tires put on my car this past Spring so we'll see if that makes a difference on the turns this Winter. I really don't mind takin' mine out in the snow (within reason), but I hate having to watch out for all the "crazies" out there!

Oh I hear ya- Man it's like evey time it snows all the idiots crawl outta the snowdrift- I mean common- it's Buffalo New York- We get snow- learn to drive in it- People freak out around here and white knuckle it don the road at a wooping 25 MPH- if there is so much as a flake in the air! ahhh well better safe than sorry right? OH and when the Vette won't turn- well that is why God invented the rear wheel drive and High output engine (just kifdding!)

LOL stefan, I thought you yanks knew how to handle the snowy roads. Heck down in texas they close up shop if snow is even in the forcast. And if it snows, forgetabout finding anything at the grocery store, its cleaned out like people will never be able to eat again.

Yeah, there's more than one way to turn a corner!!! And some ways are much more fun than others.
25 mph??? What's that??? Don't know if I've ever seen that before, or did ya just forget the 1 in front of it? *lol*

Most of us can handle it. We just have a few Yahoos- that panic- Nice thing is when there is some serious snow (over 6 inches) they usually stay home- Pebbles 25 MPH is that first little click on your speedo= you know the one the car idles at!!!! So what engines are in the vettes? I have a 454 4 barrel in my 86 chevy one ton- man what a hunk of iron those babies are! love big AMERICAN- Course I either have to mod the engine (Doc wants me to) or sell it as I can't afford the gas for it anymore!

Thanks fer clearing up that 25 thingy - now I get it! As far as what size engines are in the vettes, I dunno - you'd have to ask BamBam. As for me, I don't much worry about the numbers thing - as long as the fuel gauge reads Full, I'm all set to go.............

Not sure what the Stingray (blue one) gets, BamBam would know more about that one than me. The '84 (my vette) gets an average of 15 mpg city & something like 24 mpg highway. I hardly ever get to drive it on the highway (so sad), so I can't remember for sure. But I can go from zero to the speed limit in a blink! On my dash display it says the average ( or instant mpg, depending on which setting you want on ) but I never really calculated it to see if the readings are accurate. I'm guessing it's close.
I do know that you can get a reading of over 80 mpg (instant reading) if you are goin' really fast & then let up on the gas!!! Helps raise the average mpg, too (well, maybe not).
Why do you say you will never own one??? Never say never - unless ya really don't want one. Different strokes for different folks, they say......

I haul way too much crap wherever I go- A 2 seater would never work- Heck My wife wants me to get rid of my dodge and I keep telling her that I have to have a truck to haul all my stuff around (metal detecting gear- rock hounding gear- General gear- plus anything else I find laying around) She just rolls her eyes and gives me that men thing

The back of my car has a pretty big hatch area that could fit quite a bit. Not enuff room for all yer gear, I suppose.
The best part about having a 2-seater is that ya don't have to worry about hauling any kids around in it, not that we have any living with us to worry about that anyways. Although one time, I wanted to take my 6 month old (at the time) grandson for a ride in my vette. His Mom refused the idea ("you can't put a baby in a vette", she cried), but I'm sure I could have found a way to get the carseat strapped in the passenger seat. (No dang airbags to worry about either!) I'll try again later when he gets a little older & can really appreciate the ride and when Mom's not around to watch, of course!
