Record snowfall in the N AZ mountains according to the news Lake shasta +60' in less than a month, with a lot more snow there as well On the other hand, even with our nice monsoons and rainfall this winter the west PHX valley aquifer dropped below the 100 year reserve that is supposed to put a halt on new construction, and somehow the report disappeared for a few months while developers fast tracked a bunch of new projects. I assume they expect them to be "grandfathered" and allowed to continue, but a lot of people are ready to fight it, so we'll see. Meantimes I'm reading up on rainwater collection.

We're having a pretty wet winter this year. We've had some snow, but nothing like up in Flagstaff and the Snow Bowl. Mostly rain here. One of the headlines in the paper this morning is "Watson Lake overflow going to recharge aquifer". I drove past Watson Lake yesterday and the water is all the way into the woods next to it. It's a good thing.

Mead’s level held steady in February, but Powell dropped another two and a half feet, setting a new record low every night for the last two weeks.

I lived in Bermuda for a while. No fresh water. (the island is only a mile wide at the widest part) All your domestic water was collected on the roof and stored under the house.

Mead lost a foot in March. Powell continued setting a new record low every night first half of the month, but ended up a foot to the good after a fortnight of gain. Salty Puddle w/some pics
