There are folks here who love their tile saws and do amazing things with them. I am not one of them. Didn't like the high speed, or the noise, or the quality of the cut, even with a lapidary blade. Made about two dozen cuts, let the saw sit on the shelf for 6 months, then got rid of it.
We had a Rock Rascal and a have Beacon Star 6" saw. A friend wanted a saw, picked the RR--we didn't need two. A clamp will help you control your cut. Don't push too hard--let the diamonds do their job. We have several saws, but occasionally I want to cut something small (up to fist size) and I don't want to wait for and/or mess with a larger saw. The Rock Rascal works nicely, makes decent cuts, and is reasonably easy to clean up.
Typically more speed equals more heat equals less diamond life.

Have not tried the dental pot. I did not see any size specs on the listing. Is the ledge wide enough to properly heat say 30 x 40 preforms?

How about Orbs and Spots for June. That's a GREAT theme I can hear the gears beginning to turn already. Thanks! A little bit different, but with lots of room for creativity.

This looks like fun!!
But, I'm on the bleachers, too. I will soon be separated from my cab machine for the summer. Zero wrapping skills.

Nice cabinet. The weakest portion of the cabinet may be where the wheels meet the cabinet.
I have my cab machine on a rolling toolbox...the drawer liner does a nice job of preventing the drip pans from moving.

A tip for keeping track of what is rolling. We jot down grit and date (sometimes what stone) on a piece of masking tape and stick it on the side of the tumbler. This is particularly helpful when running multiple barrels and "forgetting" about them for weeks.
We have also found that ceramics are a hindrance in stage 1.

Whew! In the nick o time. Spent what felt like hours on a piece of Jumpin' Jeep which refused to cooperate. Gave up and grabbed the next colorful piece available. So I give you plan B. Of course I didn't take a picture of the slab, but here is a picture of the adjacent piece. This noreena jasper is 33 x 42. Its nice to have the competition back! Thanks Mr Glen! What a great set of cabs!!

Hoopy indeed. We bought the copper ore as "malachite & cuprite" from a Tucson show vendor who primarily imports malachite from the Congo. I don't see any cuprite, but there is certainly plenty of metal oxide and bits of native copper.
Thanks everyone!!
