My lap top computer just died. I do not use my phone for internet much. Am not working today, so will try to purchase a new one and make an appointment for file transfers.
There are so many things I need my lap top for right now.
At least I saved some thing to an external hard drive.

Beth that sucks! I hope you're able to recover all of your files!
I just got a new laptop in the mail yesterday. Spent last night trying to figure out all the updating and configuring of the new laptop...a fun time was had by all! (We need an eye-rolling emoji! LOL)

Have a new lap top. Got a good deal on one. It is a lot smaller than previous one, but better made. I need to figure out where all the settings are.
Now, I just have several more hours of work to either remember 20 unique passwords or reset them, lol.
After that will need to download PSE.
Geek Squad will be doing data recovery next week. Am just having them put everything on my external hard drive.
It is a pain doing all this.

Backing your computer up to the external hard drive is the best way to avoid having to pay the Geek Squad to do it for you. That reminds me, I need to do that.

Backing your computer up to the external hard drive is the best way to avoid having to pay the Geek Squad to do it for you. That reminds me, I need to do that. It was 13 months old. A hinge broke after 6 months. That was not covered under warranty. After the hinge, other trim pieces started cracking/breaking. Then the other hinge broke. I am never buying an ASUS computer again. The lap top was only moved about 4' total. From coffee table to my lap. I have a total protection Geek Squad plan. It is about $200.00/year and covers everything purchased from Best Buy. I can get either remote or in person support. Money well spent.
