Hey Folks, Picked up an old estate collection, so might be seeking some help over the next couple weeks as I go through it. Noticed one of them appear to have what may be Gem Silica. But, I've personally always avoided the copper family, so I am not familar with it at all. Some appear to be of good quality, some appear to be pretty junky. Had one group of people say its more than likely Chrysocolla in Quartz.

I don't see any gem silica.

Looks like quartz infused with or coated with copper salts of some kind. Gem silica is chalcedony colored by copper minerals.

I would call it chrysocolla in quartz.

It was a neat one to open and see. Will probably cut some this week!
