Hello, Fairly new to the hobby but now that my 6 year old daughter and I are up to 4 tumblers looking to buy media in quantity. Have been buying packets off Amazon or harbor freight. Any vendor's here I can support while saving some money?

It would be most helpful to know in what part of the country you live.

It would be most helpful to know in what part of the country you live. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess Texas, simply by the user name. That said, no matter the location, I took it that the member is looking for any online vendor...at least that was my read on things. Still waiting to see what *media* is being sought.

Txmedic, I purchase my ceramic media, tumbling stone and all grits and polishes from the Rock Shed. You may find these materials cheaper elsewhere but Shawn's quality is always high and consistent. The plus factor is Shawn has a lot of experience and is qualified and able to answer questions.

Yes online ordering is probably about the only option. I live in the sticks in NE Texas. Need ceramics, grit, and polish.

We purchase ours from the Rock Shed as well and have always been happy!

You can pickup some cheap ceramic media from the Rock shed, I mix mine with small rocks that get leftover from tumbles. The Rock shed also offers a 25 pound bag of small rocks as well for like 40 bucks. Would probably last 2 years. HERE

Greetings even I use The Rock Shed for machines and spares only, I have plenty of rocks to use as media. Also I have used in the past, leather strips, wood sawdust, wood shavings, plastic pellets, ceramic shapes, ceramic cutting media, fish tank gravel, broken ceramic tiles, stone scraps from lapidary club's saws, driveway gravel. . . . . . . . . . Click small photo for larger photo with some of my rock scraps. Gold Tigers eye, Amythyst, Rock Crystal shards, that unknown blue rock, milky quartz, Montrose Agates, after my mother died in 2016 I got rid of the fish tank, fish and even rocks too.

I second wooferhounds advice. I pay 50% less for grit than I would online or at a shop ( here in Canada )

I also roll river gravel in the first stages of tumbling material, it's free and lasts a long time... Works great with jasper, petwood and agates...
