Well I'm sure you all saw the news stories about the Buffalo Blizzard (i'm about 40 miles south of Buffalo). We were very fortunate to escape the very worst (only lost internet for 2 days, but had my phones hotspot). My MIL (lives a mile away) lost power and refused to leave her house, until hypothermia set in and we forced her to come over. Then my SIL had the water freeze in her trailer so we had to rescue her as well. Now I love my wife's family to death, but our plans were a quiet Christmas with just us and the dogs, but we suddenly had to entertain 2 psychically challenged adults (MIL has horrible arthritis, SIL has CP). Anyway everything got squared away and we got everyone home safe and warm after 2 days. Anyway while we were all sitting around staring at each other I did a little "shopping" for my Christmas presents. The Rock Shed Had Thumlers AR-2 in stock for $40 cheaper than Amazon! Yup add to cart. And since they offer 10% off rock purchased with a tumbler I figured why not? (plus they have some really cool goodies in stock right now) So I ordered 5 Lbs of the following: SD Prairie Agate, Desert Jasper, India Moss Agate, and SD Chalcedony. My faithful Thumler's Model T motor seized up over the summer (17.5 years old!) and it is near impossible to find a replacement, so I decided a new AR-2 would work very well as I just don't have enough small barrels running to keep up with what the Model B produces out of rough. I even converted the AR12 to run 2 3 lb barrels instead of the 12 lb barrel. This throws my plans to get a vibe back a year, but since they are not in stock currently (and have not been in stock for a long time) I figured it was better to keep processing rock rather than have it pile up (seriously I have at least 9 lbs of rock waiting to be polished, 6 Lbs waiting for pre-polish, 6 lbs waiting on 500 grit, and 9 lbs waiting for 120/220).
Sorry for the ramblings, but this is the one place where people actually appreciate silly little things like this! Hope everyone had a great holiday and Happy New Yer to all!
