Huh? I am paying about $8.00 per month for Office. Why is this so inexpensive? Don't know. Some kind of deal they have with the New York Post store. They have all kinds of deals on stuff like this all the time. All I know is I bought it, and it's the whole office professional suite and I've had no problems with it. It's the web-based office, so the download takes only minutes. All the icons are in my start menu and they all work. I thought it was a steal of a deal.

From Microsoft's site: Office 2021 is sold as a one-time purchase, which means you pay a single, up-front cost to get Office apps for one computer. One-time purchases are available for both PCs and Macs. However, there are no upgrade options, which means if you plan to upgrade to the next major release, you'll have to buy it at full price.
It's the very last version of Office that can be purchased as a standalone product, in other words, a dead-end. Office is moving to Microsoft 365, which is a subscription product. Based on some cursory searching, it appears that every other vendor has Office 21 available at $40 — except Microsoft.
Now, if you own an earlier version of Office (like we do) and you don't care about updates (like we don't) it's a bargain!
I need to take advantage of this... ... and just did. Thanks, Robin.

I don't believe them. I bought a lifetime subscription from them too, but they stopped it eventually for "reasons".
When I complained, they very lightly covered up the F-you part of their BS. It basically boiled down to "We are Microsoft and we can do whatever we want".

I have the 365 subscription. Before that, I was using a 2002 version I had on CD. Then, my new laptop was incompatible with it.

I purchased the $40 deal from the New York Post Store. It's the real deal and it's an easy download/install as hummingbirdstones stated. It just takes a while to download. One of the main reasons that I bought it was for the new functionality in Excel 2021.

@hummingbirdstone Any problems with converting older Office files? Tanks, mo Ed, I downloaded it the other day and I didn't have any problems with it converting some really older Excel files...same with Word. I haven't messed with any of the other programs yet...but I'm going to guess they'll convert just fine. EDIT - Ed, some of the Excel files were from Office '97!!
