Patience finally won! Here's a mixed batch of rocks - some water level agates, banded amethyst, obsidian, quartz (one clear, one smokey), and some assorted small chips that made it through the process. A little bummed that during polish stage I lost power (for over 24 hours!) and when I started the polish stage back it never really 'vibed' like it should have. I think in my burnish stage the amethyst and quartzes took a bit of a beating - they didn't turn out quite as nice as I thought/hoped they would. They are still super shiny, but you can see some chips, etc. Boo! Oh well...Love the video of the mahogany obsidian and the gorgeous shimmer it has. Pretty proud of how the obsidian turned out - not mirror shiny, but the shiniest I've ever gotten it.

You did a great job on these!
Your mahogany obsidian is actually Gold Sheen Obsidian.

The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."
Bummer about the bruises...but the polish really came out great! Loved seeing the sheen...so thanks for adding the video!!

Yeah, I was bummed when I saw the bruising...Still, very pleased with how the majority turned out, and glad you liked the sheen - I was surprised when I saw it!
Yes! Alot of the smaller chips were scraps from freeforms I cut - there's a small 'slab' of some kind of red/orange (2nd picture in the middle, under the long amethyst) translucent stone - I have no idea what any of it is lol...the third pic you can see better images of the smaller bits - I made free forms out of what I could and then am tumbling the rest (although I haven't decided about the limb cast yet). There was a 'coffin' free form in there that I pondered trying to cab, but decided to tumble instead.

If it was me, I would tumble the limbcast. When cabbing that stuff, you need a really nice dark piece of the pink in order for it to show that color once trimmed down to a cab. I can’t remember how pink of a piece I threw in there. So if you tumble it, you’ll have a better chance of showing the color and have a nice lil specimen piece.

Ok! I was leaning towards doing that anyways as I've not gotten back on the cabber lately and don't want to ruin it. It's a pale pink so I'll be curious to see what it looks like all shiny

I was looking at those tumbles again. The red, black and yellow plume piece is eagle rock. I also see some Carey in there (red plumes) and the green and blue stuff is vistaite picture jasper.

Thank you! I've heard of Carey, but not eagle rock. I really like looking at that one - it's small, but shows really nicely.
