Date: May 10. 2023 Weather: Strong rain, foggy and lots of clouds, 53°F Destination: EngYes... another trip with my brother. "Why on earth did you pick such a rainy, cold day for a trip outside?" I hear you ask... Well it was the last day we could have done this before his return to Taiwan and "bad weather" is just a matter of good rain gear... right? So. I picked him up at my moms place early morning and decided I show him the beautiful,
little place called Eng which does belong to Austria but can only be accessed from Germany due to the high mountains surrounding it. It was a nice, little trip and a welcome time to connect before my brother would leave for his family in Taiwan. Spottet some interesting stones and it was kinda crazy how much snow was still around this time of the year. Definitely will be back there soon with more time and better weather. Enjoy life! Gabriel

The green fields with the snow make quite the contrast. Looks like it was a fun adventure- always is when you go somewhere new.
I wonder what that rock is with the shaped inclusions ? (last photo) That tree looks alive, something out of a fairy tale OR a horror story - you choose
Thanks for sharing the adventure.
Hope your brother had a good hike as well.

Germany has some fabulous Thundereggs because an ancient hotspot trespassed the area.
Do you know anything about the huge thundereggs in the Late Carboniferous Meissen lava crops out west of the town of Meissen, Saxony, Germany?
I would love to have some photos of them!

Really interesting! It would by a two day trip, so will require a but of preperation, but it sure sounds enticing.

Always happy! The trees there are amazing. Looking forward to my next trip there.
My brother had a great time - happy to see him again soon as he found a job in France, starting in October.
