Date: June 22. 2023 Weather: Sunny, with clouds, 73.4°F Destination: River Neidernach between Griesen and Tiefentalgraben Finally out all by myself.
Don't get me wrong - I love me some good company on my trips. It's fun to have a good conversation while being out and about and sharing food and drink with your companion while marveling at the beauty of nature.
And there is the bliss, serenity, inner peace - whatever you want to call it - that comes from actually just letting your mind flow (or having a conversation with yourself if you are so inclined ) while walking your pace and your path all by yourself. Picked the region of river Neidernach for that, just walking along the river, always having the option to make a right up some of the many "Lainen" (Little mountain streams) to spice up the trip. Ended up having a nice, peaceful walk along the river, discovering "mud art" and picking up some beautiful fossiles... and most importantly: enjoying some inner peace. Enjoy yours! Gabriel

Looks like a nice day out.
I know what you mean - a walk by yourself, or an afternoon in the garden is refreshing . Clears out the mind.
Love the mud pictures.
And those rocks look like they have cool stuff in them.
Do you plan to slice one & polish or just keep as a specimen ?
Thanks as always - a nice start to my day.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, you are absolutely right. And almost nothing beats a refreshed mind.
Happy you liked the "mud art". Well... I guess I'm "special" like that. When I see that stuff I just need to "frame" it. I'd like to do a bit of both. Some of the rocks have a lot of very brittle material surrounding the fossiles, so removing that might be an idea. Just have no idea about the right method.
Guess I have to educate myself on that a litte in the near future.

I really like the mud pattern, snail and butterfly pictures. Your outdoor photography is really excellent and contains very interesting subjects.
