I have been running my Harbor Freight two barrel tumbler constantly since I bought it July third. It is out on the back patio, 100 degree heat during the days, and I check on it every so often during the day. No problem until today. I looked out and the barrels were not turning. Going out to look at it, the motor was running, I lift up the barrels and wow a mouse had managed to grab the drive roller and get smushed by the 3 pound barrel (yuck). I just shut it off and am going to think about how to clean up that mess. The trials of being an artist.

Oh my goodness! That would have been a horror for me! Poor mousey. I wonder if he got caught on the rollers and sucked in essentially. I'd rather clean up a huge slurry blowout than that. Sorry you have to deal with it.

Sorry you have to deal with it. My daughter told me I would be attracting mice if I put bird seed out on the patio but I wanted to be able the see the birds from my favorite chair. Life is so complicated. I think I will put a plastic bag over the motor part and use the garden hose. Birds or mice, I guess no more bird seed.

We have bird feeders and hubby is always chasing off the squirrels. I love all of God's creatures (except the stinging kind) and say the squirrels gotta eat too! We get chipmunks galore too!

Time That’s one I haven’t heard before. It kind of made me chuckle. I hope the mess isn’t too bad. It is definitely an issue I had not planned on but with the garden hose, an old tooth brush, and 409 cleaner, most of the mess is cleaned up. There is some damage to my roller due to the drive rod turning and the barrel not due to being jammed against the mouse. The barrels are rolling fine now but it has noise now and it didn’t before. I wonder if mice are covered under warranty.

WOW!!! Time and I thought I had troubles with my HF machines ! That's one even I have not encountered ! I've finally gotten a couple that are quiet enough to be in the basement which is not a problem as the vibratory is already there. Easier to keep an eye on things with the machines inside the house ...especially on a rainy day. Still do washouts over by the garden and final rinses at the basement sink and sump pump. Edit ... If needed, HF roller replacement kits are available on e-bay. That was the first thing that went bad on machine #1 ...never did figure out what happened ..the plastic was simply gone from the roller one morning.

Mine has a noise now but was doing so good before the mouse. Everything is rolling like it needs to so tomorrow I might to seeing if I can identify why the noise. No basement here the house sets on limestone; you have to use a jack hammer to plant a tree more than a foot deep.

That is funny. Does it squeak now? I never thought about it but strangely it does, I don’t think I will go out and check on it tonight.
