Not after crystals, etc. but just good tumbling material.

I have been to Peggie’s Cove, a lot of rocks there but I didn’t bring any back.

I have been to Peggie’s Cove, a lot of rocks there but I didn’t bring any back. Considering that the rocks are the size of battleships I'm not surprised. I went there 30 years ago and it was quaint and hardly any tourists. A bit different now. Ditto Lunenburg.

Nova Scotia is a great place to visit even if you don’t bring back any cool rocks.

Yes indeed, was there 16 days. Did bring back about 20 lbs. The famous Blomidon Slide agate area was boring and I left quickly but got a few pieces. The ones I'm most hopeful about are the two grey/green ones on top with lots of breccia. The top right one is so heavy it just must be metal, though I can't figure out how a chunk of iron could be on a remote beach. Surely it's not a meteorite with all that deep pitting. There is one almost spherical that will now replace the rock on my shelf in my 10 yr long now quest to find a perfectly spherical rock in nature. There is one on the bottom row that appears to be a violet granite which I've never seen before.

Well, apparently that one is a Mars meteorite! I am not 100% certain, but probably 75% after some initial research. It must have fallen on the beach not long before I found it.

Bob if you come to Quartzsite next year bring your Mars meteorite. There are folks there that deal them and have seen many, may be able to get a positive id!

Bob if you come to Quartzsite next year bring your Mars meteorite. There are folks there that deal them and have seen many, may be able to get a positive id! I appreciate that tip! My friend Walter and I tentatively do plan on coming again, but I hope to get more of the material I collected there done before deciding for sure. Sawing around all the fractures in the Inferno jasper has driven me almost crazy. Most but not all of the psilomelane has been crumbly. Ditto on most of the Brenda jasper we collected in the desert nearby. I sure learned the hard way that there is quality prehnite, and there is cheap prehnite. I got both and wish I had only got the quality type. He and I head in a few weeks to the quartz crystals area of Arkansas. We are going to pay $300 to have a large pocket of clusters opened for us with a backhoe. Have never done that before.

Wow that’s rad Bob! I know it will be hard to remember but try to get picks of the locality and deposit. I’d be really interested in seeing what that looks like and if I was there doing it I’d be so excited I’d forget to take pics!

Someone in the forum was visiting with me quite a bit last year about going to Ark for quartz. Was it you?

We talked about stuff but not sure if that was me. I would have said something to the effect I’ve always wanted to go. I’m in CA so doubt I will be in a position to visit there at this point. Unless I win Powerball lol….
