Having personally never set foot in the State of Montana: my girlfriend/fiancé has some friends who moved there, who are not rock hounds at all. They like to take hikes. So, my ‘hun asks them to pick up some rocks while hiking, and that we’ll pay the freight in a FRB to have them shipped here….well even though I didn’t know what to expect, they did exactly that. Now apparently a few of these are from Wyoming and South Dakota, and the red colored ones came from the Pryor Mountains. I know some of you come from this area and/or have experience with rocks from these areas. I am hoping somebody can get me specific IDs on these rocks, this photo was taken earlier this evening, after 3 weeks/3 grit & water charges in step 1. I am pleasantly surprised by the colors of these, but they seem a bit on the brittle side. Agates? Petrified wood maybe? Anyway I’m hoping for some specific IDs, and I really appreciate anyone who might be able to shed some light. There is no color enhancements made, this is straight off the cellphone, just reduced in size some.

I do see some petrified wood, some Prairie Agates, and some "Jaspers" in there! If that one that's center on the right IS a Prairie Agate, it's a killer one...it looks like Wonderstone! Awesome colors in that group geoff59!!
