I currently have a nat geo tumbler and a Lortone 3a. Would you guys recommend getting a 33b or going ahead and getting the QT6? I will probably use the QT for course then finish in the others if I go that route. The 33B has 2 barrels which I like but they are both 3lbs.
Thanks

I'd recommend the QT6.

I would do the QT-6, less clean up having to only do one barrel, and think about a vibratory tumbler too. (Either way the 33b or the qt6 your looking at 6 lb tumblers total.)

Yea I was set on the 33b but I figured if I run course in the QT then I can fill the 3a faster. I have a batch on polish now and it seems like it took me forever to get enough running course on it and the nat geo.

scotydog826 your situation reminds me of when I was a new tumbler. I bought a QT66 to supplement my 33B's, had two. Did so on recommendations of folks here and did not regret doing so. The QT66 runs about 40 to 50 dollars more than the QT6. You get two 6 pound barrels and the Qt66 frame is the same as the QT12 frame. So down the line if you wish you can buy a 12# barrel and use it in your "tumbling arsenal". Something to consider...

I agree with tkvancil I have both a qt6 and qt66 - if I could only have one I'd have the qt66.

Thanks everyone. Ordered a QT66 today. I was emptying my small Barrell today that was in stage 4 of gemstones we found in North Carolina that I ordered one that would tumble 4x the rocks of my blue one (Lortone 33a) and she was very excited. Her excitement answered any questions I may have had regarding ordering it.
Thanks again everyone for the input.

Where did you order from? I haven't seen those in stock often.

Thanks for this post! This is the question that landed me on this forum! Its currently out of stock, but says to check back Oct. 30th which just so happens to be when I get my profit sharing check from work! Hopefully they'll be back in stock then before the extra money goes to something else that inevitably pops up!
