Some of the more unique looking rocks I make pendants and the like out of but the vast majority of them just serve to kinda sit around. Currently they’re all relegated to some plastic Tupperware containers that I have but this is quickly becoming less and less effective as I get more and more tumbles done. I was thinking of getting some see through glass jars and just filling them up with the stones. I’m curious what other people have found effective for storing any other finished products.

Good question. It will be interesting to see what people do. Here is what happens to most of my tumbles. First they get separated by type as best I can and put in plastic bags. Then, if I am giving away to friends and family or displaying they go into one of three types of glass jars as follows: These jars are olive jars. It is hard to get the labels off of these but the glass is clear and you can put a fair amount of rocks in them. These are small glass spice jars (for smaller rocks that you can't figure out what to do with). I actually bought stick on labels that I put on the top of the lid and use the printer to label them with the name of the rocks and sometimes where I found them. The original labels on these come off fairly easily with some goo remover. I give these to my "good" friends. You can get them at Hobby Lobby in all sorts of sizes. I forget what you call them.

5gallon buckets and lots and lots of large Tupperware bowls, plus any empty plastic containers. It’s always growing.

These candy boxes fit nicely on window sills where the "gems" can be lit by sunlight in all their shiny glory and they are rather whimsical displayed as if they are candy ... I have mostly the brown inserts which is great for all of the lighter colored stones and the darker stones look nice against the gold or silver foil . The local "outdated foods" store has these for 99 cents and I only buy them for the boxes ! <<-- that's my story and I'm sticking to it ! The non "WOW!!!!!" stones are in clear plastic boxes and assorted jars.

Flowers show up at our house on Mother’s Day and for Birthday’s in glass vases. When the flowers are no longer pretty the vases can be cleaned up for tumbled stones.

A black jar, in the back, in the corner, in the dark, so nobody will ever see them again .

I have huge glass vases, the type that church ladies use for enormous bunches of lillies etc. I have 11 of them so far, chock full of delicious eye candy, each is just getting to the stage where any heavier would be a nope. They hold around 8 Kg of polished rocks. They are cheap, $10 or so from the dollar store type places.

Lots of great ideas. Yep, glass jars, vases from free flowers, also we have a set of 4 tall glass canisters, the type for pasta or flours/sugars that come in 4 different heights and have rocks in those. Wood bowls. Also fabric bowls, homemade crafty type made from coiled cording.

This is the million dollar question in our home "What are you going to do with all of these rocks!!" lol...I have sorted through my favorites and they sit in ceramic dishes that were made by my kiddos. I've given some away to a friend for her to try and sell at her farmers market stand (not sure if she did this or not). I've also bought little corked 'honey' jars that I put my 'littles' in - I have four of these filled so far. I saw something on amazon - a hand stand that I thought pretty cool, but it would only hold a handful lol...pun intended...and it's almost $40 so I haven't pulled that trigger yet.

When we finish a batch, first me and my wife go through them. I take my favorites to work and they are basically just scattered all over my desk. She picks out a couple for our wall display. After that, I pick out any more that I really liked but didn't quite make the cut in the first round. This way I have some to put somewhere else if I want, or if I want to rotate any out. These might also be used as gifts. Then we let our kids (3 and 6) go through and pick out a couple for the display in their room. It's a golf ball display case with the vertical dividers removed. Importantly, the case locks and has an extra bracket attaching the bottom to the wall. This is a little bit of an older picture of it; what's inside now is almost completely different. Then, we let the kids pick out 1 or 2 that they want to take to their teacher. They both really enjoy giving their teacher one of the rocks and showing it to the whole class. After that... well, I haven't really decided. Sometimes we give some away. The leftovers are put into a labeled tupperware container on a shelf.

What are the little blue tabs under some of the treasures ? This stuff. My wife has some sort of "museum wax" now though and has started replacing some of it since it doesn't show.

I have way more finished rocks than I realized. I’ve been seriously tumbling since around October, 2022, and it’s nice to have a visual on how productive I’ve been. I’ve even given away a lot of polished rocks. I love all these little glass bowls and things that we’ve collected overtime. They’re perfect up on the living room mantle.

I buy Rubbermaid TakeAlongs containers from Dollar Tree. $1.25 for two 5.2 cup containers. I use these for storing the vast majority of my things related to this hobby.
