Holy Bejeeberz there's some cool rocks in this batch!! You're right about "trippin'" me out about the jaspers vs. Prairie Agates!! This one is a Fire Agate...and a freakin' cool one! : This next one - another freakin' amazing rock - looks like it should be a Botswana Agate...but I've only see one other one with eyes like that (if I'm remembering correctly!):

I did get some fire agates and I must’ve thrown one in and forgot about it. I will have to get some more of those going because they are amazing. That very well could be a Bot because I have a bunch of them from several different sources. It sure is a beautiful rock. Off to the races! Today is a big stage. A very big stage!

I have some fire agates. You inspired me to throw a few in the tumbler. Everything I've read said that would ruin them, but after seeing your results - I'm in.

Photos 14-15 are bots. Nice looking tumbles. I like your shaping and your polish is top notch. Do you use AO polish?

Two thumbs up. Especially for the fire agate! Thanks! I’ll definitely be getting more. I threw a handful in my small tumbler, on low speed. They are not easy to tumble. I only ran it for a few course cycles before switching to the vibe.

The one with all the eyes also. I’ve gotten bots from several different sources and they are all quite different. Yup, for pre-polish I’m have several pounds of 1200/1500 AO ‘Amazon’ polish I got before I knew what I was doing, or the generic polish that came with the raytech. I’ll run one or two cycles of pre-polish for a couple days each with 1 level tsp. Then I run it for 2-3 days with 1/2 tsp of .2/.3 micron AO, then a couple hours cleaning cycle with dish soap and extra water, finally a 12-24 hour clean/burnish cycle with 1 tbs of borax. It’s a bit much, I’m working on streamlining the process eventually.

So they aren’t supposed to be tumbled, huh? The rock I originally put in there was a couple inches diameter. I’ve no idea what happened to the rest of it lol. This time I put 5 of them in the 1 pound tumbler with several small bots. So I’ll be able to tell what they crumble into. I got them from natures treasures in Austin last year.

None of them look anything like that one fire agate I have yet. I will keep tumbling them gently. I added my last two rough fire agate also (last pic)

Interesting! I'm wondering if you just got extremely lucky the first go around? - They still look pretty cool though!

You have some tumbling also, right? Not yet. I''m gonna throw some in the vib and start at 220 when I free it up (no coarse grind). I have some rose quartz finishing up in there now.

I got a feeling that my fire agate was a layer inside the one I originally threw in. It separated and ended up being beautiful. What are the chances that the other ones have a layer in it just as nice? I don’t know. At least I got that one. As my jewelry making skills improve, I’ll turn it into something pretty eventually.
