Just recently ID'd this material after slabbing a nodule from my scrap pile. Anyone else cabbed this material or know about it. Id like to learn more about it if anyone knows. Royal Eyes Cabenite.

To be clear, that one isn’t my cab. Just an example of one I found online to show what the material can offer. I’m hoping to come across material like that as I continue to slab nodules from the pile.

From the Two descriptions I’ve found online, one says it comes from the McDermit area and the other says it comes from near the morrisonite claims. Based on the rhyolite matrix from material I’ve seen out of McDermit, I’d say it’s more than likely from around there.

It's definitely cool stuff, first pic looks like a slab from a "thunderegg".

Another new rock to me. I really like the greens running through it. It’s beautiful!

Definitely a nice find out of the "junk pile"! I can't wait to see what you do with what ya got!! Maybe we’ve already discussed this. But I think I figured out the junk pile was essentially a hide pile. The top layer had stuff that’s definitely scrap or non desirable. Then you get down into it and all the old good rare stuff comes out.

Gosh, you get the nicest stuff! I joke with jasoninsd that I’m a rock trust fund baby 😂. But I’ve been thinking.. I should share the wealth and start putting some material up for grabs in the cab contests or other events.

Small sample of rough. Off the saw Can't get tired of that. Is that an old snow fence in the first pick?
