As part of my efforts to find a slurry that I like in my vibe, that’s not borax….
You know, Orbeez, those little beads that fill up with water. There’s the small ones that people shoot from little guns and then there’s the bigger ones. My kid has a bunch of the bigger ones so decided to throw some in vibe, 220 course run. I left them whole, thinking they’d mush up. But they don’t seem to disintegrate, just grow huge like the big breaker marbles. I’ll try crushing/mushing them next time. Or maybe use smaller ones. I’ll take pictures when I clean out tomorrow.

Try the glow in the dark ones! LOL There is method behind my madness. I noticed when the kid takes the orbeez, mashes them them up real fine and mixes with water, it makes a nice gel. So I just need to do that first. It also got me thinking that lots of smaller ones would be good for cushioning in final polish stages for delicate rocks.

Sugar has solved my mini sonic issues in the pre polish and polish stages. Just sharing my new to me method of sticking the load together to prevent any damage. You also don’t have to worry about the load drying out nearly as much. It retains moisture much longer (don’t know why but it does).

There are a few here who use sugar. I know jamesp used to, not sure if he still does.

I use psyllium powder... yeah the laxative.. insert joke here... I use it for polish and pre-polish, 1/2 tsp for my UV18. Creates a lubricating gel that holds water and really helps release polish during clean up. Looks really funky when started up but smoothes out fairly quickly.

It’s fun experimenting.

How much sugar for a #10 Vibe load would be the suggested starting point ?
