Awesome Chris! Love the crosses! Thanks Ashley. I should have included credit to Rob of Michigan Rocks for the inspiration for the crosses. I have made a lot of them and they make great gifts for people.

Awesome Chris! Love the crosses! Thanks Ashley. I should have included credit to Rob of Michigan Rocks for the inspiration for the crosses. I have made a lot of them and they make great gifts for people. When Rob came out for a visit, he left us a bunch of his crosses for our family members. I still keep one of them on my desk at work. You really did an amazing job on these Chris! The polish is amazing!! The ones like this one are at the top of my favorites for Prairie Agates:

A friend of ours sent us a couple of boxes of rocks they collected on a trip through Montana and Wyoming, and with photos like the ones here I am able to more positively ID some of the rocks that they sent back. It’s a big help to me, as has been Jason’s input in another thread (tip of the hat sent to you Jason), allowing me to have a lot more confidence in the ID’s that were a complete mystery at first. So thanks for the pics here!

What a great batch of agates those crosses are cool looks like they survived the tumble nicely. Did they lose much material while tumbling? Great job thanks for sharing.

What a great batch of agates those crosses are cool looks like they survived the tumble nicely. Did they lose much material while tumbling? Great job thanks for sharing. Thanks. They don't lose a lot because the agates are so hard. Just enough to round the edges and put a really good shine on the flat parts. They started with 90 degree corners from saw cuts. I tumble all of the crosses and Christmas ornaments in a Lot-O vibratory tumbler strating in 220 and run for 2 to 3 days and then go to 500 aluminum oxide and then micro alumina. When tumbling the crosses and ornaments, I tend to add only small rocks (mostly leftovers from cutting out crosses and ornaments) and ceramic pellets to minimize breakage.
