Just checking in to see if there’s any good rockhounding spots in or around Knoxville? Also in the Smoky Mountains? We are going to be here all week and was looking for somewhere to look down for rocks.
I was looking at Douglas Lake and possibly some pearls in the Tennessee river…? We will be traveling around the south east part of the state for hiking and fall colors.
Thanks so much for any help, it’s always much appreciated!

Thanks QuailRiver! I did search and find that page. I think we’re gonna go by Gatlinburg and poke around the water a bit. If anyone has any specific locations to check out, I’m all ears. Thanks again for the help QuailRiver

I did find this really nice rock hunting guide for rock hounding or rock hunting in Tennessee. rockchasing.com/agates-in-tennessee/I’ll leave it here in hopes it helps someone in a search someday. I’ll also report back with what I find.
