Hi fellow rockhounds! My husband Kelly and I are going to make a trip to the Owyhees, our very favorite collecting area again in March, weather permitting. I have always wanted to dig some Nyssa plume agate but have never known where/which road to take from Nyssa to explore and hopefully find some. Anyone here who knows and is willing to share some tips? It would be much appreciated to have some idea of direction in that vast, amazing country!

The Nyssa plume is a claim that is owned by the Owyhee Gem Club. You have to first get permission from them to go collect on the claim, and if they ok you, then they will give you directions also.

Thank you for the information! I'd love to join the Owyhee Gem Club, so will look into it- the LAST thing I would want is to stumble onto someone else's claim. We're pretty casual rockhounds, often mostly surface collecting or if digging, not very deeply. The Nyssa agate thing is just sort of a "bucket list" wish I've had because it'd be fun to explore a new area. And Tony, we loved buying from you last January at Quartzsite! I work for Ken and Terry Diede on their website, so we've met you with them last year.
