Hi, I recently acquired some rocks in the Bay Area. Several are unknown to me, so I'd like to ask here for id help. Starting with a slab and some poppy jasper. Here is the slab (which I really love). From some searching, I think it might be chapenite, but I'm not sure. And if it's chapenite, is it from Fort Irwin, Siam Siding, or some other place? And here are the poppy jaspers. I have no idea where they are from, and would love any insight into their provenance. The variety and beauty of poppy jaspers is really cool ... makes me want to start collecting and cataloging them all. Poppy jasper 1: Poppy jasper 2: Poppy jasper 3: Thanks in advance!

Great looking material. I hope you get the IDs.

Nice looking rocks! The first one instantly said chapenite to me even before I read your comments. No idea on the location though.
The first poppy is almost certainly Morgan Hill - the rest probably are also but I'm not certain.
