I love this idea!
Out of curiosity...what did you "learn" from the first batch?

I love this idea! Out of curiosity...what did you "learn" from the first batch? This was my first time working with epoxy so learning the set up timing was one thing. I first poured a layer of colored epoxy then set the rocks on that then poured clear to cover the rocks and fill the molds. I placed the rocks on the first layer a little to soon so they settled into the epoxy instead of sitting on top. Not a huge deal but the rocks aren't seen as well in the side profile. Just needed a little more cure time on the first layer. Next is the amount of coloring to use to get the desired tint. A little color goes a LONG ways! Definitely need to start small with the amount of color used. Also the need to choose the correct rock to color combo to help make things stand out.

I was wondering if you'd let us know...just so the "next person" could know the things to look for when doing a project like this. I really really really like the ones you did...but I can see how your "lessons learned" will make them even better!
