My family met at a beach house on Long Island this past holiday season. The beach was brimming with surf-rounded stones, so I took a set of them home. I ran them through my tumbler and here are the results... Pre-tumbling Post-tumbling The results were pretty good. Some smaller ones ended up glass-clear and the lacy pattern in many of the stones was nicely enhanced by the polishing. Next time I won't take any smaller than a quarter, as those the size of a nickel or so ended up pretty tiny. Nice, but tiny. I am sending samples to everyone who attended as souvenirs of the trip.

Nice polish. Looks like the quartzite tumbled nicely. They can be hard to polish sometimes. Thanks for posting.

You did well with those. Random beach rocks are hit and miss. I know you mentioned not picking up anything smaller than a quarter, but remember that you might need a good mix of sizes, and those "smalls" might help you with grinding efficiency.

Nice work on those doublebluff! I also love the idea of giving those as "souvenirs"!

Nice! Love the pink colors throughout. I love beach rocks - sometimes they turn out, sometimes they don't but when they do I think they look great!

This is cool. It’s interesting you have so many peachy colored stones over on that side. Opposite side over here we are mostly grays, whites, greens, and then red jasper. Fun you sent some polished ones back to your family as well. Could be a cool tradition.👍
