Hello everyone, This is a rock from a collection we purchased so I don't know anything about it except it is purple and a file will scratch it, it's very hard. This piece is 4" x 3". There is mica or something similar on the quartzy crust on the outside. I hope the photos will make it easy to identify. Thank you so much.

Looks like Spurrite to me.

It reminds me of Royalite from Platte County Colorado.

Looks like Spurrite to me. I think you might be right. Thanks, I have never heard of it before.

It reminds me of Royalite from Platte County Colorado. Thank you, it could be, but it really looks like Spurrite. Maybe someone at the rock club will have a definite ID and if they do I'll let you know.
