I'm about to lose control and I think I like it! I just wandered down the street to see my neighbor who I knew was a bit of a rockhound. A bit? Oh...my...freaking...GOD! He's a kindred spirit...rocks under the couch..stories of days spent digging in fields in upstate new york...and ...AND HE's GIVING ME HIS SAW! and AND!!!! a grinder! Can you say "happy hermatite"?

Oh WOW. Herm! What a great day you had!!
What kind of saw and grinder? Not that it matters - you are gonna have a ball, no matter what kind they are.
I haven't been on the forum much because during the day I have been working my tail off and at night I have been locked in my "grinding closet", grinding, grinding, grinding. Every evening it's a big decision - the forum or grinding. So far, the grinding has been winning! ;D

Hello Hermatite, That is too cool ... you'll definitely be taken by the sure joy of cutting rocks! As every time you make a cut ... you are seeing it for the very first time ... no other individual has ever seen what you get to see ... I guess that is a lot of the joy of slabbing rock ... you get to discover something new within minutes! Keep us posted ... we are looking forward to seeing your new set-up. The only thing my neighbor ever gives me ... is a pain in the rear! Have a great day ... oh wait ... you already did John

Hermy, I bet he is just as excited at you recieving the saw and grinder. I bet he plateaud and with knowing he is not alone in this, he gets his fire back. I bet he can show you some tricks in cutting, polishing, and I bet he knows some tricks for setting. Maybe you can show him some wire wrapping.
