This is short photo story about my trip to one hill in Central Serbia where jaspers and chalcedonies can be found. This is place where my orbicular jaspers came from. This is my second visit to this hill. This time I was not so lucky about finding orbicular jaspers, but there are other kinds of jasper and chalcedony. So here it goes. Lada Niva. This vehicle is not nice but you are going to get wherever you want. A little scenery. Something out of track. Layers of volcanic-sediment magnezites. This is designated hill. Outcrop of jasper and chalcedony veins. Detail of jasper vein. From different angle. Some Nickel minerals. Underground exploration work. Same thing some 100 m away. My loot. Some close up. Thanks for looking. Zotika

Very nice haul. You don't need rock shows when you have that stuff lying around.

Looks like you had a good trip Zotika, that's some nice looking jasper and chalcedony you have there. Hey, nothing wrong with your 4x4 ... wish I had one, my car doesn't take me anywhere. Beautiful countryside too, do you see much wildlife when you're out rockhounding?

The one in the top left looks scenic. Its my favorite. When will we see slabs?

Cher, at this trip we didn't met big animals, one of reasons is because this location is relatively close to some villages. But there was lots of small lizards and birds. Daniel, that was just my impression also. We'll see when I cut that one, but I think I might find some more in that pile. But cutting is going to wait a little because I have one nice picture jasper slab waiting for me. Soon I'll start slabbing this pile and that one is on priority list. I promise to take some pictures, and post them here of course. Zotika

It's a Lada! We used to watch Lada caravans cross the isthmus in Panama - huge lines of 200 or so cars crossing from the Atlantic to the Pacific on their way to Panama City.
Beautiful country you have there. Love the hills and the rocks!

Thank you guys. It would be great joy for me to welcome you here in Serbia, and of course to take you to some rock hunting. By the way Stefan, you are absolutely right. How come that you know so much about Lada Niva. Zotika

now what would you do with all of us...HAH! your virtual tours are about as close as any of us are going to get to Serbia. same as all the cool pics that Jack (Deepsouth) posts of New Zealand.
i want to go everywhere. but i think if there is a rock hound meeting in the 2007-2009 venue for a possible get together, it should be in Tucson, land of rock shows. BBQ at Banjo's.......lol.

But it is not impossible.
