Sands, Your cabs are gorgeous! You should get some of them listed on eBay ASAP and see how they do. You might be very pleasantly surprised!

yeah the thunderegg cab is nice, but i think yours are better sandman. If that went for over 40, yours definately should. sell two at 40, and you got yourself another 33B or something!!

Come on, Kim! Sands is not chicken. He's just being hesitant because he is WAY OVERLY critical of his own beautiful creations! Apparently he can't see the beauty that we all see in his gorgeous cabs! Hopefully he will believe us one day and try posting one. I think that's all it will take. ;D Once the shopping/buying community sees them, I think they will sell like hotcakes!!! Maybe that would convince Sands how great his cabs are. (Are you listenin', Sands? ) BE

(Just kidding about the paddle.......but I'm very serious about how good your work is! Prove me wrong. Post some on eBay and let's see what happens. I don't mean to be pushy. Just trying to encourage you to go for it!)

think of it this way, you sell a few cabs probabaly for around 30 - 50 bucks, and then you take the money and buy more slabbing rock for more cabs, or another tumbler, saw...... you could actually turn this into a small off to the side form of income to supply for all the expenses involved with rocks.... oh the posibilities!!

I might as well join the Nag Sands about eBay party! LOL! Seriously, Sands, your freeform cabs are beautiful. They are also unusual which is another reason they are so attractive and eye catching. I know they would sell. If I didn't love mine so much, I would put it on eBay just to prove to you that it would sell. But then I would have to be an "indian seller" and keep it cause it's too neat for me to really sell! LOL! Then I would get major negative feedback and on eBay that neg feedback is a killer! Just went and looked at the last pages of First Attempts thread. That Willowcreek and Budstone is incredible. There is no doubt in my mind that they, and all the others you have done will sell with no problem! Since I am lusting after them both, I know you would have at least one person bidding on them - ME! llana

Sands, BE is really good at writing stuff. I bet she would be happy to help write a really great description.
I know how you feel looking at John's work and comparing yours to it. I feel the same way comparing my stuff to yours!

you should just start a thread where you put a picture of the cab, and we send in our descriptions of it and you pick the one you like the best. the only drawback, we don't know what they look like in real life, so it probabaly wouldn't work that well...

Hey Sands,
I am getting caught up with all of the postings. Whew, there has been a bunch!
Don't kid yourself ... your stones would definitely sell! Are you kidding me (which you can not) ... I have seen your work, and I can tell you this ... there are more people out there selling lesser stones and making fairly good money at it.
You could sell your stones with no problem at all.
There is only one way to find out ... jump in with both feet and see what happens.
The hardest part is getting established as a new seller. Treat people like you would like to be treated and you'll have no problems at all.
Have a great day and let us know when you decide to try listing on eBay.
Have a great day,
John

Hey John, Given enough time to think about it, I am pretty good with the written word (like Llana said), and I would be tickled to help with your descriptions (anytime). But I also think that JK's suggestion is good. It would be alot of fun for all of us to be able to look at one of your cabs and submit our descriptive suggestions to you in a thread here!
What do you think? How soon can we start?

I know what sands is talking about. If you look at the bright spot on the picture, you will find a flat area. 99.9999% of people buying the stone will never find anything out of perfect in their lifetime. Sands and I and probably a few of us on this forum would lose sleep over that. Jenne sells my stuff and I take her word for it that it is ok. Captain Jack Sparrow had me make the ring for the movie. I still shudder at a small mistake I made that he has not seen to this day. I was going to e-mail Johnny tonite and let him know we are ok, but I did not as I still think of the error. The error saved his finger when some scaffolding lights came down on his hand during a publicity gig. He brought me back the ring to fix and I did not have time to correct the error nobody sees. Keep up the good work sands, perfection is over the next dune. Finding the right one is the quest.
