That is really wild looking stuff. I look forward to you making it shine. Where does it come from (aside from ebay and rock shops)?

Oh WOW that is georgous, that has as much a drool factor as the bolder opal. Is it a hard stone that can be tumbled or is it soft to the only thing you can do with it is cab it. Tami

I think that spectrolite is another name for labradorite when it comes from Finland. It's iridescence is amazing. Rated about 6.5 mohs so I guess you could tumble it. I'm not sure how to cab it but at $$$$$per gram I won't rush it. The other Don

That stuff is incredible! I love that stone but it is hard to get. Occasionally, I get some beads of that. WOW! I can hardly wait to see what you do with it. I would probably just look at it. LOL

Cool stuff. Yes, Spectrolite is Labradorite with especially high iridescence effect. The most valuable Labradorite.

i tumbled some saw scraps of it and it basically didn't do very well. and i've had so-so luck with cabbing it, tho i must admit i've only had a few pieces to play with, so am not an expert. it's pretty stuff tho, good luck!
