Hi, all,
I'm Steve from Birmingham, Alabama. I've been cabbing for about a year now; haven't gotten into tumbling yet...
Building up my equipment inventory. Right now I have a DP Genie grinder/polisher, a Highland Park 10" trim saw and my well-worn 4" tile saw, a Slik 14" slab saw, and an 8" polisher. The saws are still works in progress.
I'm looking for other cabochon cutters to learn from, and also for folks with equipment experience to help me refurbish the 14" saw.
Please feel free to visit my site and critique my work.

Welcome to our little home on the net. We're just a bunch a crazy rockhounds who can't get enough of this hobby. It sounds like you're well on your way with your equipment. If you have questions about your saw refurbishing projects, just post them in the General section and I'm sure you'll get an answer, or 12. If you're interested in cabs, there is a section devoted just for cutting cabs where you can post questions, look at other people's work and post some of your cabs. We all love seeing other people's work, so post away.
PS. I just checked out your web site, and you're right, you do some very nice work.

Welcome to the RTH forums Steve! Stoner couldn't have said it better so there's not much for me to add ... except, he (stoner) polishes a mean cab himself. Cher

Welcome, Steve. Nice website, and it loads fast. That Tuxedo agate cab is (was) a knockout!
